To use your Basic Energy Cleansing Kit, begin by choosing a time when you won't be interrupted. Open a window or door to ensure good airflow throughout the space — this is important both for air circulation and safety. Light your herb bundle using a candle or lighter, allowing it to catch a small flame before gently blowing it out so it smoulders. Hold it over a heat-safe dish or the included abalone shell to catch any falling ash, and carry it through your space, moving it slowly around doorways, corners, and areas where energy feels heavy or stale. If your kit includes a resin and charcoal disk, use tongs to hold the disk as you light it — it gets extremely hot — and place it securely in a heat-safe burner before adding a small pinch of resin on top. Never leave burning materials unattended, and keep everything well away from children, pets, and any flammable materials.
Before you begin, take a moment to set a clear intention for your session. This could be as simple as silently stating what you'd like to release or invite into your space — whether that's stress, tension, a fresh start, or a sense of calm. Hold your intention in mind as you move through the space, working from the back of the room toward an open door or window to guide stagnant energy outward. If your kit includes a crystal or other tool, hold it in your non-dominant hand while you work, or place it in a central area of the room as a focal point for your intention.
Once you've finished moving through your space, place your herb bundle in the heat-safe dish and allow it to extinguish fully on its own, or gently press the tip against the dish to put it out — never use water, as this can damage the bundle for future use. Take a few quiet breaths and notice how the space feels. Many people find this a grounding way to open or close a meditation session, mark a fresh start after a difficult period, or simply reset the energy of their home at the end of a long day. With consistent use, this kit can become a meaningful anchor in your regular spiritual practice.
