When you are finished, press the lit end firmly against a heat-safe surface such as a ceramic dish, abalone shell, or fireproof bowl to extinguish it fully. Always burn Palo Santo in a well-ventilated space and never leave a smoldering stick unattended. Keep it away from children, pets, and anything flammable, and make sure it is completely out before setting it down.
