To use your Black Sage Bundle, light one end of the bundle with a match or lighter and allow it to catch a small flame. Gently blow it out so the tip begins to smoulder and produce smoke. Hold the bundle over a heat-safe, fire-resistant dish at all times to catch any falling embers, and make sure the room is well ventilated by opening a window or door. Never leave a lit or smouldering bundle unattended, and keep it well away from children, pets, and any flammable materials. When you are finished, press the lit end firmly into a dish of sand or salt to extinguish it completely, and allow it to cool fully before setting it down or storing it.
To reset the energy in a room, slowly walk through your space while holding the bundle over your dish, allowing the smoke to drift into corners, doorways, and areas that feel heavy or stagnant. Move with intention—take your time and work from one end of the space to the other. To shift the energy around your body, pass the smoke gently around your head, shoulders, and down toward your feet, again keeping the dish beneath the bundle throughout. Black sage is particularly well suited for use in the evening, when you want to clear mental noise, settle after a long day, or prepare for intuitive work like tarot or oracle reading.
