To use your Sage and Pine Stick, hold one end and light the tip with a lighter or match, allowing it to catch a small flame before gently blowing it out so the bundle smolders and releases its aromatic smoke. Always burn your stick over a heat-safe dish, abalone shell, or ceramic bowl to catch any falling ash. Work in a well-ventilated room by opening a window or door to allow fresh air to circulate, and never leave a burning bundle unattended. Keep it well away from children, pets, curtains, and any other flammable materials. Once lit, carry or rest the bundle safely as you move through your space.
To reset the energy in a room, slowly move the smoldering stick around the perimeter of the space, paying attention to corners, doorways, and windows where stagnant energy tends to collect. You can also hold the bundle near your body — moving it from your feet upward — to help shift the energy in your personal field before starting your day. When you are finished, press the tip firmly into your heat-safe dish or a small amount of sand or salt until it is fully extinguished. Never run it under water, as this can damage the bundle for future use.
