This ritual is best performed in the evening, when the energy of the day has settled and you have time and privacy to be fully present. You may perform it alone as a practice of self-connection, or set the space with a partner in mind.
- Clear your space physically and energetically. Tidy the area where you will work, and if you have cleansing herbs, incense, or a sound tool, use it to clear stagnant energy from the room.
- Dim the lights and create an atmosphere that feels warm and inviting. You may wish to place rose petals, a piece of carnelian or garnet, or a small mirror nearby to amplify the energy of the ritual.
- Set your candles in holders arranged in a loose circle or a line before you. Place the black candle first as the foundation and protector of the space.
- Light the black candle first and say aloud or in your heart: "I release all shame, all fear, and all that has kept me from my own power. I am safe to feel. I am safe to desire."
- Light the red candle next and speak: "I welcome passion into my body and my life. My desire is sacred. My fire is alive."
- Light the orange candle and say: "I open myself to pleasure, to joy, and to the full creativity of my sensual self. I receive freely and without guilt."
- Light the deep pink candle last and speak: "I invite love and tenderness into my intimacy. I am worthy of being cherished. My heart and my body are one."
- Sit quietly with the candles burning for as long as feels right. You may meditate, journal, listen to music, or simply breathe and allow the energy to settle into your body.
- When you are ready to close the ritual, thank each flame before extinguishing them — beginning with the pink candle and ending with the black. Do not blow them out; use a snuffer or your fingers if comfortable, to honour the energy you have raised.
- You may repeat this ritual over several nights, lighting one candle each evening, or burn all four together as a single powerful working. Trust your intuition.
