Allow it to burn for a few seconds, then gently blow out the flame, leaving the tip smoldering and releasing its sacred, resinous smoke. Place the stick securely in a heat-safe incense holder positioned on a stable, non-flammable surface, and allow the aromatic column of smoke to rise freely. Please keep safety at the heart of your practice. Always burn incense in a well-ventilated room to allow fresh air to circulate alongside the sacred smoke. Never leave a burning incense stick unattended, and ensure it is fully extinguished before leaving the space. When you are ready to end your session, press the glowing tip gently against a fireproof surface or into a small dish of sand to extinguish it mindfully and completely.
