Cutting the deck means dividing it into two or three piles and reassembling them in a different order. Any of these methods works well — use whichever feels natural.

For a daily single-card draw, shuffle the deck while focusing on a simple question such as "What should I be aware of today?" Draw one card and spend a few minutes sitting with the image and its meaning before starting your day.

For a three-card past, present, future spread, shuffle the deck while holding a specific situation in mind. Lay three cards face down in a row from left to right, then turn them over one at a time. The first card represents influences from the past, the second reflects the current situation, and the third points toward a likely outcome or direction moving forward.

Keeping a tarot journal is a practical way to track your progress with the deck. After each reading, write down the cards you pulled, the position they were in, and your immediate impressions. Over time, patterns may emerge that help you develop a stronger personal understanding of the cards.
