This ritual is most effective when performed with focus and a genuine intention to release. Choose a quiet time when you will not be interrupted, and allow yourself to move through each step slowly and with presence.
- Begin by tidying and cleansing your space. Open a window if possible, and consider burning a cleansing herb bundle or using sound to clear the energy in the room before you begin.
- Set up a fire-safe candle holder or holders on a stable surface. Place the three candles in front of you — black to the left, white to the right, and purple in the centre.
- Sit quietly for a moment with your hands resting in your lap. Take three slow, deep breaths. With each exhale, consciously release tension from your body. Allow yourself to name, either aloud or in your mind, the specific energy, pattern, or situation you are ready to release.
- Light the black candle first. As the flame catches, speak aloud or silently: "I release all that does not serve my highest good. What has drained me no longer has power here. I am clearing this energy now."
- Light the purple candle second. Say: "I call in wisdom, spiritual strength, and clarity. I release this negativity with understanding and with intention. I am supported by something greater than this moment."
- Light the white candle last. Say: "I welcome purification and light into this space and into my energy. I am cleansed. I am renewed. I am protected."
- Sit with the candles burning for as long as feels right. You may meditate, journal, or simply breathe and observe the flames. If a thought or emotion rises, allow it to surface and then consciously release it to the flame.
- When you are ready to close the ritual, take one final deep breath and say: "It is done. I am clear. I move forward in peace." Extinguish the candles gently — do not blow them out if you prefer to preserve the intention; use a candle snuffer or pinch the wick carefully.
- You may repeat this ritual over several nights, lighting each candle until it burns down completely, or use all three candles in a single sitting. Trust what feels right for your practice.
