Working with a chime candle is a simple and meaningful practice. Whether you are new to candle magic or have long incorporated ritual into your daily life, the steps below will help you use your light violet candle with intention and care.
- Prepare your space. Choose a quiet area where you will not be disturbed. Clear the surface and place your candle in a secure, fireproof holder on a heat-safe surface. Dim the lights if it feels right, and take a few slow breaths to settle into the present moment.
- Set your intention. Before lighting the candle, hold it gently in your hands and bring your intention clearly to mind. This might be a desire for spiritual clarity, deeper intuition, emotional healing, or connection to higher guidance. Speak your intention aloud or hold it silently in your heart. You may also write it on a small piece of paper to place beneath the candle holder.
- Anoint or surround the candle if desired. Some practitioners choose to place crystals nearby — amethyst, clear quartz, or selenite pair beautifully with light violet's energy. You may also anoint the candle with a drop of lavender or frankincense oil, moving from the base upward to draw energy toward you.
- Light the candle with presence. As you strike the match or flick the lighter, return your attention to your intention. Watch the flame catch and settle. Allow yourself a few quiet moments simply to be with the light — breathing, releasing, and opening.
- Sit in meditation or quiet reflection. You may choose to journal, pull a card, or simply sit in stillness while the candle burns. Let the flame serve as a focal point for your awareness. If your mind wanders, gently return your attention to your intention and the light before you.
- Close your ritual. When the candle has burned out naturally, take a moment to offer gratitude — for the practice, for the guidance you are open to receiving, and for the time you gave to yourself. If you need to leave the room before the candle finishes, extinguish it safely and never leave it burning unattended. You may relight it when you return to continue your practice.
- Release and trust. Fold your written intention and keep it in a meaningful place, release it to the earth, or burn it safely in a fireproof dish as a final act of surrender. Trust that your intention has been received and that the work continues beyond the flame.
