This ritual can be performed in a single session to work through all seven chakras, or you may choose to light one candle at a time over several days, focusing on whichever energy centre calls to you most. Either approach is valid. What matters most is your presence and intention.
- Choose a quiet space where you will not be disturbed. Clear the surface where you will work and, if you wish, cleanse the energy of the room with sound, smoke, or simply a few slow, conscious breaths.
- Place your seven chime candles in secure holders, arranged in order from red to violet — either in a line or a gentle arc in front of you.
- Sit comfortably and take a few deep breaths to settle into your body. Bring your awareness inward and set a clear intention: to open, balance, and harmonise your energy from root to crown.
- Begin with the red candle. As you light it, place one hand over the base of your spine and speak aloud or in your heart: "I am safe. I am grounded. I belong here."
- Move to the orange candle, lighting it and placing your hand over your lower abdomen: "I embrace my creativity and the flow of life moving through me."
- Light the yellow candle, hand over your solar plexus: "I stand in my power. I trust myself."
- Light the green candle, hand over your heart: "I give and receive love freely. I am open."
- Light the light blue candle, hand resting at your throat: "I speak my truth with clarity and kindness."
- Light the indigo candle, gently touching the space between your brows: "I trust my intuition. I see clearly."
- Finally, light the violet candle, lifting your gaze or your awareness upward: "I am connected to something greater. I am whole."
- Sit quietly for as long as feels right, breathing and allowing the candlelight to hold your intentions. You may meditate, journal, or simply rest in stillness.
- When you are ready to close, take a final breath and offer gratitude for the energy you have called in. You may allow the candles to burn down fully in a safe setting, or snuff them out gently and return to them another time.
