Allow the flame to burn for 10 to 15 seconds until the ember glows steadily, then softly blow out the flame and watch as a ribbon of fragrant smoke begins to rise. Rest the stick securely in an appropriate incense holder — one designed to catch the ash as it falls — and allow the calming blend of florals, woods, and resins to slowly fill your space. Never rush the process; part of the ritual is in the slow, intentional unfolding of the smoke itself.
Safety is an important part of any sacred practice. Always burn incense in a well-ventilated room to allow fresh air to circulate alongside the aromatic smoke. Use only a proper, heat-resistant incense holder placed on a stable, fire-safe surface, and ensure the burning stick is kept well away from curtains, paper, fabrics, and any other flammable materials. Never leave a burning incense stick unattended, and always keep lit incense out of reach of children and pets.
