To work with Braided Sweetgrass, hold one end of the braid and carefully light the tip using a match or lighter, allowing it to catch a small flame before gently blowing it out so it smolders slowly. Walk through your space, allowing the fragrant smoke to drift into corners, doorways, and areas where you feel the energy needs to be shifted or reset. Always burn sweetgrass over or near a heat-safe dish or abalone shell to catch any falling embers, and make sure your space is well ventilated by cracking a window or door. Never leave burning sweetgrass unattended, and keep it well away from children, pets, and any flammable materials. When you are finished, press the lit end firmly into your dish or into sand to fully extinguish it.
