Scent Note: Scent is a deeply personal experience — what smells bold and earthy to one person may feel light and sweet to another. Every nose is different, and that is completely normal. Scent intensity and character may also vary slightly between batches due to the handcrafted nature of these incense products. If you have ordered multiple scents, we recommend storing and airing each box in a separate area, as aromas can mingle during shipping.
To use your Hem Frankincense Incense stick, begin by placing it securely in a heat-safe incense holder or burner set on a stable, flat surface. Hold a flame to the very tip of the stick for several seconds until it catches and glows with a small ember. Gently blow out the flame so the tip continues to smolder, releasing a slow, steady curl of fragrant smoke. The warm, resinous aroma of frankincense will begin to fill your space within moments, creating an atmosphere of ancient calm and spiritual presence. Allow the stick to burn naturally for its full 45–60 minute duration, or carefully extinguish the ember in sand or a bowl of water when you are finished.
Burning incense safely is an important part of honoring your practice. Always burn incense in a well-ventilated room to allow fresh air to circulate alongside the sacred smoke. Use only a proper, heat-safe holder designed for incense sticks to catch all falling ash. Never leave burning incense unattended, and ensure it is fully extinguished before leaving the room or going to sleep. Keep lit incense well out of reach of children and pets, and place your burner away from curtains, paper, fabric, and any other flammable materials. A mindful setup creates a safe and sacred space for your ritual.
Frankincense has been used for centuries in prayer, ceremony, and spiritual practice across many traditions, and working with it intentionally deepens its power. Before lighting your stick, take a moment to breathe deeply and set a clear intention — whether that is cultivating peace, opening your intuition, deepening a meditation session, or inviting spiritual clarity into your space. As the smoke rises, visualize it carrying your intentions upward and gently clearing any stagnant or heavy energy from the room. Frankincense is especially supportive during Third Eye and Crown Chakra work, making it a beautiful companion for guided meditation, journaling, prayer, or any moment of quiet spiritual reflection.
