Fire Safety: Never leave a burning candle unattended. Keep away from children, pets, and flammable materials. Always burn on a heat-safe, fireproof surface. Keep wicks trimmed to 1/4 inch before each use. Do not burn for more than 2 hours at a time. Extinguish completely before leaving the room.

Working with a chime candle does not require elaborate preparation. What matters most is your presence, your clarity of intention, and a quiet moment of connection before the flame is lit. Here is a simple ritual to help you get started.
- Prepare your space. Choose a calm, quiet area where you will not be interrupted. Place your candle in a secure chime candle holder on a heat-safe, fireproof surface. Clear any clutter around you and take a few slow, grounding breaths.
- Set your intention. Before lighting the candle, hold it gently in your hands and bring your intention clearly to mind. Speak it aloud or silently, feeling the meaning behind the words. You might say something as simple as, "I call in courage and strength" or "I am grounded, present, and ready to act."
- Write it down. On a small piece of paper, write your intention in a few words or a single sentence. Fold it toward you and place it beneath the candle holder as a physical anchor for your working.
- Add supporting tools if desired. Place crystals nearby that align with your intention. For red candle work, stones such as red jasper, garnet, or carnelian complement the energy beautifully. You may also add a pinch of herbs like cinnamon or rosemary near the base of the holder, keeping them well clear of the flame.
- Light the candle. As you strike the match or flick the lighter, take one more breath and release any tension. Watch the flame settle and allow yourself to sit with your intention for a few moments. You may meditate, journal, or simply rest in stillness while the candle burns.
- Stay present and safe. Never leave your candle burning unattended. Remain nearby for the duration of the burn, which will be approximately two hours. Keep children and pets away from the area, and ensure nothing flammable is within reach of the flame.
- Close your ritual. When the candle has burned out naturally, take a moment to express gratitude for the energy you have worked with. You may keep the written intention somewhere meaningful, release it to the earth by burying it, or burn it safely in a fireproof dish as an act of surrender and trust.
