To begin working with the Ancestor Spirit Oracle Cards, hold the deck in your hands for a moment before shuffling. Think about a question or area of your life you would like guidance on. This helps you focus your intention before drawing any cards.
To shuffle, choose whichever method feels most comfortable. The overhand shuffle works well for larger decks — simply transfer small groups of cards from one hand to the other repeatedly. A cut method is also effective: divide the deck into two or three piles, then reassemble them in a different order. Repeat either method as many times as feels right before drawing.
For a daily single-card draw, shuffle the deck while focusing on the question: What do I need to know today? Draw one card from the top, the bottom, or wherever you feel drawn. Read the card's message in the 104-page guidebook and sit with how it applies to your current situation.
For a three-card spread, shuffle the deck and draw three cards, placing them left to right. The first card represents the past, the second represents the present, and the third represents the future. Use this spread when you want a broader look at a situation or decision.
After each reading, take a few minutes to write down your cards and your initial impressions in a dedicated journal. Note the card names, any images that stood out to you, and how the messages connected to your question. Reviewing past entries over time can reveal patterns and insights you may have missed.
If you are new to oracle cards, start with the guidebook rather than trying to memorize meanings right away. The guidebook is there to support you. Over time, you may find that certain images or words on a card speak to you directly — trust those responses. Your own instincts are a valid part of the reading process.
