Using a lighter or match, carefully ignite the very tip of the stick and allow the flame to hold for 10 to 15 seconds until you see a steady ember glow. Gently blow out the flame and watch as a delicate thread of smoke begins to rise — this is your signal that the incense is burning beautifully. Set your holder on a stable, heat-resistant surface such as a ceramic dish, crystal tray, or dedicated altar tile to catch any fine ash as it falls throughout the burn.
