Keep the burning stick away from children, pets, curtains, paper, and any other flammable materials, and never leave it unattended while lit.
Once your stick is burning steadily, move it slowly and deliberately around your body from your feet upward, or carry it through each room of your home to shift the energy and reset the space. Pay particular attention to corners, doorways, and areas that feel heavy or stagnant, as these spots tend to hold lingering energy. When you are finished, press the lit end firmly into sand, soil, or a fireproof dish to fully extinguish it — never leave a partially burned stick to go out on its own. Store your used stick in a cool, dry place so it is ready for your next session.
