Chakra candle rituals are most effective when approached with presence and intention. Set aside a quiet window of time, even just the full burn of the candle, to dedicate to this practice.
- Prepare your space. Clear the area where you will be working. You may smudge with sage or palo santo, ring a singing bowl, or simply tidy the space and dim the lights. Remove distractions and create an environment that feels calm and intentional.
- Set your intention. Hold the unlit candle in both hands for a moment. Breathe deeply and bring to mind what you are calling in — stability, safety, groundedness, or trust. Speak your intention aloud or hold it quietly in your heart.
- Light the candle with awareness. As you strike the match, do so slowly and deliberately. Watch the flame take hold and take one full breath before setting the candle in its holder on a safe, heat-resistant surface.
- Meditate or work with an affirmation. Sit comfortably, close your eyes, and breathe deeply. Visualize a warm red light glowing at the base of your spine, expanding with each exhale. You may repeat an affirmation such as: I am safe. I am grounded. I belong here. The earth supports me.
- Allow the candle to burn fully. Chime candles are designed to burn in a single sitting of approximately two hours. Stay present with the flame as long as feels right, then allow it to continue burning safely while you rest nearby.
- Close your ritual. Once the candle has burned out, take a moment to express gratitude for the practice. Ground yourself further by placing your bare feet on the floor, drinking a glass of water, or stepping outside briefly. Dispose of any remaining wax with intention, returning it to the earth if possible.
