Hold the tip of the sage stick over a flame for several seconds until it catches, then gently blow out the flame so the end glows and produces a steady, fragrant smoke. Move slowly and deliberately through your space, guiding the smoke along walls, into corners, and around doorframes to help shift the energy and refresh the atmosphere of the room. When you feel your practice is complete, press the lit end firmly into sand, soil, or ash inside your heat-safe dish to fully extinguish it. Never leave a burning or smoldering sage stick unattended, and keep it well away from children, pets, curtains, and any other flammable materials at all times.
