- Prepare your space. Choose a quiet area where you will not be disturbed. Place your candle in a secure, fireproof holder on a stable, heat-safe surface. Clear the space of clutter and, if it feels right, arrange any crystals, sacred objects, or divination tools nearby to support your intention.
- Set your intention. Before lighting the candle, hold it gently in your hands for a moment. Breathe slowly and bring to mind what you are calling in — clarity, intuition, psychic protection, or peaceful reflection. Speak your intention aloud or hold it quietly in your heart.
- Write it down. On a small piece of paper, write your intention in present tense, as though it is already true. Fold the paper and place it beneath your candle holder or beside your ritual space to anchor the energy.
- Light the candle with awareness. As you strike the flame, acknowledge the moment as a conscious act of intention. You may wish to say a few words, a prayer, or simply sit in silence and watch the flame settle.
- Stay present and never leave the candle unattended. Spend time in meditation, journaling, or quiet contemplation while the candle burns. If you need to leave the room, extinguish the candle completely and relight it when you return.
- Close your ritual. When the candle has burned out naturally, take a moment to express gratitude. You may keep the written intention in a journal or sacred space, or release it by burying or burning the paper safely outdoors as a final act of surrender to the universe.
