A Guide to Shadow Work
Find self-love, self-acceptance, and true growth through understanding the dark and light that coexist in you.
Over the course of your life, you push difficult emotions and experiences aside, but they never truly leave you. These elements form your shadow self, the dark side of your personality that most people try to repress. Shadow work is a method of embracing and seeking to understand this darker aspect of yourself so that you can release the pain and trauma of the past and become a more healed and balanced person. A Guide to Shadow Work will be your guide as you walk toward embracing your shadow self:
- Learn to see your shadow self and recognize the impact it has on your life
- Use targeted journal prompts to explore your shadow self and bring it into the light
- Practice deep meditation to begin to release the experiences you’ve repressed
- Retrain yourself with habits that bring you a healthier lifelong relationship with your shadow
Darkness and light coexist in every person. Only by doing the hard work of acknowledging the darkness can you begin to heal, love and accept yourself, and truly grow.

A Guide to Shadow Work takes you on a meaningful inward journey, gently illuminating the parts of yourself that have long lived in the dark — the unresolved emotions, unconscious patterns, and childhood imprints that quietly shape your daily life. Through guided exercises, reflective journal prompts, and meditative practices, this compassionate workbook walks you through the process of recognising your triggers, understanding where they come from, and beginning to integrate them with honesty and self-compassion. Rather than bypassing difficult feelings, this book invites you to sit with them, learn from them, and ultimately transform them into sources of deep personal wisdom.
This workbook is a wonderful companion for anyone standing at a threshold — whether you are new to inner work and looking for a structured place to begin, or a seasoned practitioner ready to go deeper with intention and accountability. It is especially meaningful during times of transition: the end of a relationship, a shift in identity, the beginning of a healing journey, or simply a quiet season where you feel called to know yourself more fully. If you already keep a spiritual journal or maintain a daily practice, this book will enrich and focus that work in a beautiful way.
By the time you reach the final pages, you will have gained practical tools for identifying and reshaping reactive behaviours, a richer understanding of your own emotional landscape, and a more loving relationship with the whole of who you are — shadows included. The full-colour illustrations and workbook-style layout make the process feel both accessible and sustainable, so the growth you experience on the page can quietly ripple out into every area of your life.

Shipping: Some products require additional processing time because they may be handmade or individually prepared, sourced through one of our suppliers or distributors, or otherwise require additional preparation before dispatch.
This can include, but is not limited to, tarot and oracle decks, books, select singing bowls and other sound-healing instruments, handmade bracelets and malas, and other supplier-sourced or individually prepared products.
Supplier-sourced products may be fulfilled from Zen Collection's available inventory or sourced through one of our suppliers or distributors after your order is placed. When a supplier-sourced item is not physically on hand, please allow approximately 3–15 business days before dispatch, excluding weekends and holidays. This is an estimate only and is not a guaranteed dispatch or delivery timeframe.
Handmade bracelets, malas, and other handmade or individually prepared products may also require additional processing time for making, assembling, sizing, restringing, finishing, or other preparation before they are ready to dispatch.
Website availability or an “In Stock” status may include inventory available through our supplier or distributor network and does not necessarily mean the item is physically on hand at our Barrie store or ready for immediate dispatch.
Supplier inventory and lead times can change without notice. Products may occasionally become temporarily unavailable, backordered, allocated, delayed, discontinued, reprinted, revised, repackaged, or otherwise affected by supplier-side changes.
During holidays, promotional periods, high-volume sales events, supplier delays, or other periods of increased demand, sourcing, handmade preparation, order processing, and dispatch may take longer than the usual estimates.
Carrier transit time is additional and begins only after your order has been dispatched. Carrier delivery estimates are also not guaranteed by Zen Collection.
If your purchase is a gift, needed for a specific date, or otherwise time-sensitive, please contact Zen Collection before placing your order. We strongly recommend ordering well in advance rather than waiting until the last minute.
Zen Collection cannot guarantee arrival by a specific date and does not accept rush-order requests or guarantee priority sourcing, making, preparation, or processing.
