Using your Mudra Backflow Incense Burner is a simple and meditative ritual in itself. Begin by placing the burner on a stable, heat-safe surface — a wooden altar board, ceramic tile, or stone slab all work beautifully — in a spot away from open windows, fans, or air vents, as even gentle drafts can disrupt the enchanting downward smoke flow. Nest one backflow incense cone snugly into the top opening with the pointed end facing up. Light the very tip of the cone, allow it to catch for a few seconds, then softly blow out the flame. Within moments, you will notice the aromatic smoke begin to cascade downward in a calming, waterfall-like spiral — a truly mesmerising effect that enhances meditation, energy clearing, and moments of quiet reflection. Allow the cone to burn fully, which typically takes around 20 minutes, and never leave burning incense unattended or within reach of children or pets.
Caring for your ceramic backflow burner keeps it looking its best and ensures that each burn flows just as beautifully as the last. Once the burner has cooled completely — please allow plenty of time before handling — gently tap away any loose ash and wipe the surface with a soft, dry cloth. For any residue that has settled into the carved details or the cone-holding chamber, a dry soft-bristled brush, such as a small paintbrush, works wonderfully to lift ash without scratching the ceramic. Avoid submerging the burner in water or using harsh chemical cleaners, as these can damage the hand-crafted finish over time.
