Scent Note: Scent is a deeply personal experience — what smells bold and earthy to one person may feel light and sweet to another. Every nose is different, and that is completely normal. Scent intensity and character may also vary slightly between batches due to the handcrafted nature of these incense products. If you have ordered multiple scents, we recommend storing and airing each box in a separate area, as aromas can mingle during shipping.
To begin your ritual with Native Soul Holy Smoke Incense Sticks, hold the tip of the stick to a flame and allow it to catch for a few seconds until a small ember forms. Gently blow out the flame so the stick begins to glow and release its fragrant, sacred smoke. Rest the stick securely in a heat-safe incense holder or burner on a stable, non-flammable surface, and give yourself a moment to arrive fully in the space before your ritual begins. The long burn time of each stick — up to 60 minutes — means there is no need to rush. Simply allow the warm, resinous smoke of frankincense, copal, and lavender to slowly fill your environment and invite a sense of stillness and presence.
As with all fire-based practices, please tend to this ritual with mindful care. Always burn incense in a well-ventilated room to allow fresh air to circulate alongside the sacred smoke. Never leave a burning incense stick unattended, and ensure it is fully extinguished before leaving the space — resting the glowing tip in a small dish of sand is a gentle and effective method. Keep burning incense out of reach of children and pets, and ensure that no flammable materials such as fabric, paper, or curtains are nearby. A dedicated incense holder placed on a ceramic tile or heat-safe dish will help protect your surfaces and keep your space safe throughout the ritual.
Holy Smoke is a beautiful companion for meditation, prayer, and intentional space clearing. Before lighting your stick, pause and set a clear intention — whether that is inviting spiritual clarity, releasing what no longer serves you, or opening your heart to deeper wisdom. As the smoke rises, you may choose to sit quietly in meditation, focusing on the breath and allowing the grounding floral and resinous notes to anchor you in the present moment. For space clearing, move slowly and mindfully through each room, letting the smoke drift naturally into corners and along doorways where energy can stagnate. Close your ritual by expressing gratitude and sitting in the quiet that the smoke leaves behind — a space made a little more sacred than before.
