Allow it to catch and burn for about 30 seconds, then gently blow out the flame so the stick begins to smolder and release its warm, woodsy-citrus smoke. When you are finished, press the glowing tip firmly against a heat-safe, fireproof surface such as a ceramic dish or abalone shell until it is fully extinguished.
