Origin: Patchouli resin is derived from the Pogostemon cablin plant, traditionally sourced from Southeast Asia, including Indonesia and India.

Scent Profile: Rich, earthy, and deeply musky base with warm sweet-spicy undertones when heated on charcoal. Deep, grounding, and comforting rather than sharp or floral.

Burn Time: Variable — burn time depends on the amount of resin placed on the charcoal disk and the size of the pieces used.

Natural Variation: As a natural product, each piece will vary slightly in size, shape, weight, and colour. This is part of its beauty and authenticity — no two are exactly alike.

Safety Warning: Always burn in a well-ventilated area. Use a heat-safe dish or proper holder. Never leave burning products unattended. Keep away from children, pets, and all flammable materials. Extinguish fully after use.

Resin Burning Note: Resin incense requires a charcoal disk to burn. The charcoal disk and resin burner get extremely hot during use — always handle with care and place on a heat-safe surface.

To burn Natural Patchouli Resin, you will need a charcoal disc, a heat-safe censer or fireproof dish, and a pair of tongs. Hold the charcoal disc with tongs and light the edge until it begins to spark and self-ignite, then place it carefully in your censer and allow it to fully grey over — this usually takes two to three minutes. Once the disc is ready, use a small spoon or your fingertips to place a pinch of patchouli resin directly onto the glowing charcoal. Start with a small amount, as a little goes a long way, and add more as needed to maintain your preferred scent strength. Always burn resin incense in a well-ventilated room, place your censer on a heat-safe surface away from flammable materials, and never leave burning charcoal unattended. Keep out of reach of children and pets, and allow the charcoal disc to cool completely before disposing of it safely.

For a grounding meditation or breathwork session, light your resin just before you settle into your practice and let the warm, earthy scent fill the room as you begin. Focus on slow, deliberate breathing and allow the rich patchouli aroma to bring your attention down into your body and into the present moment. If you want to shift the energy in your home or reset a space after a stressful period, carry your lit censer slowly through each room, paying particular attention to corners and doorways where stagnant energy tends to collect. You can also blend patchouli resin with frankincense or myrrh on the charcoal disc to deepen the effect during intention-setting or altar work.

To incorporate patchouli resin into your personal ritual practice, try burning it while writing out abundance intentions, setting up a manifestation grid, or preparing for a self-care ritual. Its grounding frequency makes it especially well-suited for moments when you want to feel settled, focused, and present before beginning any spiritual work. If you prefer a subtler way to work with its energy between burning sessions, keep a small sealed nugget in a cloth pouch on your altar or at your desk — the natural scent releases gently over time and serves as a quiet, steadying presence throughout your day.

Returns: Most unused items in their original packaging can be returned within 14 days of delivery, or of purchase in our Barrie store. Return shipping is paid by the customer.
