Hold the stick at a slight angle and bring a flame to the tip, allowing it to catch and glow for a few seconds before gently blowing out the flame. The tip should produce a steady, glowing ember and a gentle trail of fragrant smoke. Place your stick securely into an appropriate incense holder — one that fully supports the stick and catches falling ash — and allow it to smolder naturally for its full 45 to 60 minute burn time. Never force the process or relight unnecessarily, as each stick is crafted to release its sacred properties gradually and intentionally.
