Scent Note: Scent is a deeply personal experience — what smells bold and earthy to one person may feel light and sweet to another. Every nose is different, and that is completely normal. Scent intensity and character may also vary slightly between batches due to the handcrafted nature of these incense products. If you have ordered multiple scents, we recommend storing and airing each box in a separate area, as aromas can mingle during shipping.
To use your HEM Tangerine Incense Cones, begin by placing one cone upright in a heat-safe incense holder or cone burner designed to catch the ash as it falls. Set your burner on a stable, non-flammable surface and ensure your space has good airflow. Using a lighter or match, carefully ignite the very tip of the cone and allow the flame to hold for approximately 10 to 15 seconds until a small, glowing ember forms at the top. Gently blow out the flame and you will see the cone begin to smoulder, releasing its warm, zesty tangerine smoke in a slow, steady curl. Allow the cone to burn fully and enjoy the uplifting aroma as it fills your space with bright, citrus energy.
As with all burning products, please keep safety at the forefront of your practice. Always burn incense in a well-ventilated room to allow fresh air to circulate freely. Never leave a burning cone unattended, and keep it well out of reach of children and pets at all times. Ensure your burner is placed away from curtains, paper, fabrics, and any other flammable materials. Allow the ash to cool completely before handling or disposing of it, and never place a hot burner directly on delicate or heat-sensitive surfaces. A mindful, safe environment honours both your wellbeing and the sacred nature of your practice.
Tangerine carries a radiant, solar energy that beautifully supports intention-setting, creative rituals, and morning mindfulness practices. Before lighting your cone, take a quiet moment to set a clear intention — whether that is inviting focus and motivation into your workday, shifting your mood toward joy and optimism, or simply creating a welcoming, energized atmosphere in your home. The sweet citrus smoke resonates with the Solar Plexus Chakra, making it a wonderful companion for affirmations around confidence, personal power, and self-belief. You may also burn a cone during journaling, gentle movement practices, or any time you feel called to refresh and uplift the energy of your space and spirit.
