To use your lavender floral sage stick, begin by opening a window or door to allow fresh air to circulate and give the released energy somewhere to go. Hold the tip of the bundle over a flame — a lighter or candle works well — and allow it to catch for several seconds before gently blowing out the flame. The bundle should begin to smolder and release a steady stream of fragrant smoke. Hold the stick over a heat-safe surface or an abalone shell at all times to catch any falling ash, and never leave a burning bundle unattended. Keep it well away from children, pets, curtains, and anything flammable while it is lit.
Once your bundle is smoldering, move slowly through your space, guiding the smoke into corners, doorways, and areas that feel heavy or stagnant. These spots tend to hold onto old energy, and giving them extra attention helps shift the energy and reset the space. You can also pass the smoke around your own body — starting at your feet and moving upward — to help clear your personal energy field and invite a sense of calm. When you are finished, gently press the burning tip into a fireproof dish or a bed of sand to extinguish it fully. Do not use water, as this can damage the bundle for future use.
