This ritual is designed to support a dedicated meditation session. It can be used as a daily practice or whenever you feel the need to return to stillness. Set aside at least twenty to thirty minutes in a quiet space where you will not be interrupted.
- Choose a clean, flat surface as your ritual space. This might be a dedicated altar, a windowsill, or simply a cleared corner of a table. Place your candle holders in a line or a small triangle formation, with the white candle at the front or centre.
- Dim the lights in the room if possible. Sit comfortably in front of your candles and take three slow, deep breaths. With each exhale, consciously release any tension you are holding in your body.
- Light the white candle first. As you do, speak aloud or silently: "I release what no longer serves my mind. I arrive here, fully and freely, in this present moment."
- Light the light blue candle next. Pause and observe the flame for a moment before saying: "I welcome clarity and calm. My thoughts slow, my breath deepens, and I listen to the quiet within."
- Light the violet candle last. Allow yourself to feel the fullness of the space you have created before saying: "I open to wisdom, to stillness, and to the deeper awareness that lives beneath thought."
- Begin your meditation practice. You may sit in silence, use a guided meditation, practice breathwork, or simply observe the candles with a soft gaze. Let the flames be a gentle focal point whenever the mind wanders.
- When your session feels complete, take a final three deep breaths. Extinguish the candles one by one in reverse order, violet first, then light blue, then white. As you extinguish each flame, offer a quiet word of gratitude for the stillness you cultivated.
- Carry the quality of that stillness with you as you return to your day. You may reuse these candles for future sessions until they are fully burned.
