To use your Palo Santo stick, hold one end and angle it downward slightly as you light the tip with a match or lighter. Allow the flame to catch for about 30 seconds, then gently blow it out so the stick begins to smolder and release its warm, fragrant smoke. Each stick typically burns for 4 to 6 minutes on its own. When you are finished, press the lit end firmly against a heat-safe surface such as a ceramic dish, abalone shell, or fireproof bowl to extinguish it fully. Always burn Palo Santo in a well-ventilated space and never leave a smoldering stick unattended. Keep it away from children, pets, and anything flammable, and make sure it is completely out before setting it down.
To use Palo Santo as part of a space-clearing practice, light your stick and slowly walk through each room you wish to refresh, allowing the smoke to drift into corners, doorways, and areas that feel heavy or stagnant. You can also hold the stick near objects, crystals, or yourself to help shift the energy and reset the space.
