The overhand shuffle — passing small groups of cards from one hand to the other — is gentle on the cards and works well for most people. You can also use a simple cut, dividing the deck into two or three piles and restacking them. If the cards are well broken in, a light riffle shuffle is fine too. Shuffle for as long as feels right, then draw when you feel ready.

Single-card daily draw: This is one of the most straightforward ways to use the deck. Each morning, shuffle the cards while thinking about your day ahead or a specific question you are sitting with. Draw one card and spend a few minutes reading its meaning in the guidebook. Return to that card throughout the day and notice how its message applies to what you experience.

Three-card spread: For a broader look at a situation, lay three cards face down from left to right. The first card represents the past or background of the situation, the second represents the present moment or current energy, and the third represents a possible path forward. Flip each card one at a time and read them in order before looking at the full picture together.

Journaling tip: Keep a dedicated notebook for your pulls. After each reading, write down which card or cards came up, your immediate reaction to them, and any thoughts or feelings that surfaced. Over time, reviewing your entries can reveal patterns and help you build a personal relationship with the deck beyond what the guidebook provides.

Beginner tip: Use the included guidebook as a starting point, not a rulebook. Read the description for each card, but also pay attention to your own first impression when you see the image.
